The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Service Technician to join our Sydney operation on a full-time basis. In this role you’ll support our customers by delivering safe, reliable automation service support, including repairs, fault-finding, breakdown response, and preventative maintenance, helping minimise downtime and optimise machine performance.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Maintenance, Repairs & Fault Finding: Carry out preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs across Scott-built machines and customer equipment (including BladeStop, meat automation and robotic systems). You’ll troubleshoot mechanical and automation issues (locally and remotely), complete machine audits, and make practical adjustments/recommendations to optimise performance and product output.
- Customer & Service Support: Be the face of Scott on customer sites and responding promptly to service requests, providing clear technical guidance, and helping customers keep their equipment running reliably. You’ll also participate in the on-call roster to support urgent breakdown response and minimise downtime.
- Reporting & QA compliance: Keep service work well documented and easy to trace by completing concise, timely reporting of labour, spares, consumables and job detail. You’ll produce accurate service reports, record technical resolutions and preventative recommendations, and ensure all technical documentation is correctly certified and compliant with standards.
- Continuous Improvement: You’ll collaborate closely with planners, coordinators and other technicians, share field learnings with engineering/service teams, support upskilling where needed, and look for opportunities to add value during site visits (including travel across Australia and New Zealand).
About you:
- Mechanical Trade Qualification, preferably with unrestricted / restricted electrical license
- 3 to 5 years relevant working experience as a Service Technician/Maintenance Engineer or similar
- Experience working on automated machinery and processing equipment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills (English)
- Honest, reliable and proactive with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.
- Must be able to travel domestically which is typically considered with day visits, overnight and extended days up to 10 days. (Essential) Travel is an integral part of this role and is required to conduct machine service work, upgrades and other Service business.
