Supply Chain Manager - Rocklabs, Auckland

Rocklabs is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead our end-to-end supply chain function in Auckland. This is a key leadership role, bringing together planning, purchasing, inventory, freight and export to ensure materials and finished products flow reliably from supplier through production to customers around the world.
You’ll lead a team across planning, purchasing and logistics, while working closely with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing and Service to balance customer delivery, cost, inventory, quality and supply risk.
What you’ll do
- Lead and develop the Supply Chain team, setting clear priorities and driving accountability.
- Own procurement strategy, supplier relationships, sourcing, negotiations and commercial governance.
- Develop a resilient supplier base and proactively manage supply and continuity risks.
- Lead planning and inventory strategies to support production and customer requirements.
- Oversee freight, export and logistics activities, ensuring cost-effective and compliant delivery.
- Use ERP/MRP systems and supply chain data to improve visibility, performance and decision-making.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement, Lean and process optimisation opportunities.
- Partner with internal teams and suppliers to resolve constraints and deliver practical solutions.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for a commercially minded supply chain leader who enjoys working in a complex engineering or manufacturing environment and can move comfortably between strategy and day-to-day operational challenges.
You’ll ideally have:
- 5+ years’ senior procurement, purchasing or supply chain experience in manufacturing, engineering or a similarly complex environment.
- Strong procurement and commercial capability, including sourcing, RFQs/RFPs, negotiation and supplier management.
- Proven experience leading and developing a team.
- Strong relationship management, influencing and communication skills.
- Experience managing supply risk, cost and supplier performance.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in supply chain, business or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, planning and inventory management.
- An understanding of international freight, export and customs requirements would be advantageous.
