Service Technician (Bromley, Christchurch)

The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity is available for a qualified and experienced Service Technician to join our team based in Christchurch. This is a great opportunity for someone who wishes to further their career working with advanced automation systems and would be ideal for someone who has previous experience working in automation support, service, breakdown, and maintenance work.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Carrying out service work as required both on site and remotely.
  • Managing the use of materials, tools, and consumables for all work, ensuring agreed timeframes are met or exceeded.
  • Operating all manual service engineering equipment.
  • Performing breakdown maintenance as required.
  • Diagnosing and resolving automation issues pertaining to:
  • Concise, timely and accurate recording of spares and inventory used.
  • Providing electrical/mechanical support and training to the service team as required.
  • Availability to support the service technicians who are on call and provide on call support as required.

About You:

  • A trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering (dual trade Mechanical & Electrical desirable)
  • 3-5 years' experience in a relevant role (automation equipment experience highly desired).
  • Fitting experience with proven quality outcomes.
  • Manual machining experience.
  • An understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • A "can do" attitude, great communication skills and willingness to grow.
  • Availability to travel (domestic or international) to our customers’ sites to install and commission equipment as required.
  • The right to live and work permanently in New Zealand.
