We are looking for an experienced Service Engineer to join our Perth team. This is a hands-on field-based role where you will use your mechanical and electrical expertise, along with your troubleshooting skills, to support customers and keep critical equipment operating safely and reliably.

About the role
Reporting to the Service Manager – Rocklabs, you will provide technical service and support to customers across preventative maintenance, breakdowns, installations and corrective maintenance.
You will work across a broad range of equipment and technologies, including mechanical, electrical and control systems, with opportunities to apply your experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs and robotics.
This is a role that will suit someone who enjoys variety, problem solving and working directly with customers. You will be expected to work independently at customer sites while also collaborating closely with our wider engineering and service teams.
What you'll be doing
- Provide high-quality mechanical and electrical service support to customers.
- Carry out preventative, routine and corrective maintenance and breakdown repairs.
- Fault find across mechanical, electrical and control systems.
- Provide support and fault finding for Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs and robotic systems.
- Complete service work safely, correctly and to the required technical standard.
- Provide on-the-job training to customers on the operation and maintenance of their equipment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
- Provide technical assistance and advice to customers.
- Estimate service requirements, costs and parts required.
- Identify and coordinate the parts and materials required to complete service work.
- Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate records.
- Provide technical support to project engineers and other service engineers.
- Work independently and remotely at customer sites.
- Support the Rocklabs on-call roster as required.
- Identify and communicate potential business opportunities to the wider team.
- Provide market, product and competitor feedback to the organisation.
- Represent Scott and Rocklabs professionally in all customer interactions.
About you
You are a technically capable and customer-focused service professional who enjoys solving problems and getting equipment back up and running.
You will ideally have:
- A suitable trade qualification or higher, such as Electrical, Mechanical Fitting or Mechatronics.
- 5+ years' experience in a service-related field role.
- Strong experience in mechanical and electrical fault finding, repair and installation.
- Experience with control systems, ideally including Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs.
- Experience with robotics and automated equipment will be highly regarded.
- A current White Card.
- A current driver's licence.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional approach and strong customer service mindset.
- Good organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and email.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and customer outcomes.
- A proactive attitude, initiative and genuine drive to succeed.

Travel
The role is Perth-based, with travel to customer sites required. Domestic and international travel may be required from time to time, depending on customer and project requirements.
