The Opportunity:

Join Rocklabs, a Scott Technology company, and become part of a team that designs and manufactures world-class sample preparation equipment used by mining, commercial laboratories, and industrial customers worldwide.

Based in Auckland, this is a full-time permanent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to assemble, test, commission, and service machinery and equipment to the highest standards of quality and safety. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you will play an important role in delivering manufacturing projects while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the workshop.

This role also provides opportunities to contribute to equipment installation and commissioning activities, with occasional domestic and international travel as required.

Key responsibilities:

• Assemble and manufacture machinery, equipment, and mechanical systems to specification, schedule, and quality standards.
• Conduct machine testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing activities.
• Work closely with engineering and production teams to support efficient project delivery and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and workshop housekeeping while completing required documentation.
• Provide guidance and support to apprentices, trades assistants, and contractors when required.

About you:

• A trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Fitting & Machining, or a related engineering discipline.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, engineering, machinery, automation, or industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical assembly, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive team player with excellent communication skills and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• A strong commitment to Health & Safety, with the ability and willingness to travel when required.
