Business Development Manager- Protein

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Scott’s multi-award winning BladeStop™ bandsaw is uniquely designed to reduce the risk of serious injury by mechanically stopping the blade when the unit senses that the operator has come in contact. With the fastest stopping time on the market, BladeStop is a global leader in bandsaw safety with over 1500 units in the market, across 30 countries. The BladeStop Regional Sales Manager will bring at least five years of customer service and sales management experience. You will have demonstrable experience in customer service and selling high-end solutions to both large and small clients. This role requires strong communication and time management skills.

The ideal candidate will be apt to build strong relationships with both new and strategic customers. You will be able to identify the needs and requirements to promote our company’s solutions and achieve mutual satisfaction.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ongoing prospecting of new clients both in the meat processing and industrial segments.

Regularly schedule onsite meetings with both existing and new clients to assess their needs for improved safety and demonstrate the benefits of the Scott BladeStop bandsaw.

Develop trust relationships with a portfolio of major clients to ensure they do not turn to the competition.

Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives.

Ensure the correct products and services are delivered to customers in a timely manner.

Serve as the link communication between key customers and internal teams.

Consult with potential clients – presenting solutions in a highly engaged manner. Prepare and present compelling proposals and quotations while providing highly responsive feedback to potential customers.

Maintain contact lists and activities in a highly organized manner. Provide forecasts, special reports and analysis weekly. Utilize the CRM daily (Salesforce).

Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the company products, functions, features, and benefits.

Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust.

Keep abreast of market trends, requirements and competition. Prepare reports and sales plans for your markets.

Travel (domestic or internationally) as needed to support all sales efforts. Represent SCOTT at relevant trade shows and conferences (approximately 2-3 per year).

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrable skills in new client acquisition and prospecting.

Track record of meeting or exceeding annual sales quotas.

Proven experience in Business Development (within meat processing, industrial metal cutting, or automation and/or food processing industry)

Proven ability in selling features and advantages of innovative products.

Strong listening, qualifying, and solution-driven approach to understanding and solving customer challenges.

Ability to present technical information in a clear, concise manner. Strong technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in industrial equipment.

Strong computer skills – including Salesforce CRM, MS Office suite, and other business-related programs

Four-year degree preferred.
