The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced NZ Operations Manager to join our team in Dunedin on a Permanent Full-time basis.

The Operations Manager is responsible for the successful management of projects and other work allocated or undertaken within NZ Operations. Overall objectives are to complete projects on schedule and within budget, be responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation including Project Management, Engineering and Manufacturing functions. In addition, a key responsibility will be to establish and lead an efficient product-based operation that complements the project work.

You will be responsible for:

  • Lead and optimise NZ operations (both Christchurch and Dunedin facilities) across project management, engineering, and manufacturing to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Drive operational excellence by improving processes, maximising efficiency, and managing resources, budgets, and schedules effectively.
  • Oversee end-to-end project delivery, ensuring commercial, contractual, and quality requirements are consistently met.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships, acting as a key link between Sales and Operations and contributing to the NZ leadership team.
  • Develop and implement productisation strategies to support scalable, profitable growth, including product development, performance tracking, and supplier management.
  • Provide strong leadership and people management, fostering a high-performance culture, developing talent, and ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Champion health, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance and a safe, high-performing work environment.

To be a great match to this role you will have:

  • A tertiary (i.e. Bachelor- or diploma-level) qualification in engineering / business management is desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrated results in successful Manufacturing/Engineering/Workshop Management.
  • Preferably 10+ years’ experience in a similar role/industry.
  • Understanding of engineering, manufacturing, project management legislation.
  • Strong health & safety leadership and performance.
  • Strong people development and engagement.
  • Right to live and work in NZ.
