- Oversee installation and routing of wiring harnesses, sensors, motors, drives, batteries, and control systems.
- Ensure proper integration of navigation systems (LiDAR, cameras, encoders, IMUs) and onboard controllers.
- Coordinate assembly, calibration, testing, and final validation of AGV systems.
- Lead and develop assembly supervisors, technicians, and operators
- Ensure technicians are trained in AGV-specific processes, ESD, and high-voltage safety where applicable
- Balance manpower and skill set to meet production schedules and custom build requirements
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Ensure all AGVs comply with internal quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements (ISO, CE, UL as applicable)
- Enforce safety procedures related to electrical systems, batteries (Li-ion), and moving equipment
- Support FMEA, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions
- Work closely with Engineering on inspections, audits, and certification
- Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives to improve throughput and reduce rework and cycle time
- Standardize work instructions for high-mix, configurable AGV builds
- Support design-for-assembly (DFA) and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) initiatives with engineering
- Prepare assembly operations for scaling from low-volume to higher-volume AGV production
- Develop production schedules aligned with project timelines and customer delivery commitments
- Track KPIs such as build hours per AGV, defect rates, and on-time delivery
- Coordinate with supply chain, software, testing, and field deployment teams
- Support prototype builds, pilot runs, and new product introductions (NPI)
