Planning Specialist (Mangere, Auckland)

The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking an experienced Planning Specialist to join our team in Mangere, Auckland on a full-time basis.

The Senior Production Planner will be responsible for preparing, scheduling, planning, and processing all sales orders and enquiries to ensure efficiency and workflow for all functional teams in Rocklabs. This position has will have direct reports and have a reporting position to the Operations Manager.

You will be responsible for:

  • Prepare production plans for the manufacturing and reference materials teams. E.g. Work plans, resources, parts to be organised.  
  • Schedule and process job packs and purchase orders to ensure continuous production.
  • Assist in reviews of safety stocks, minimum order quantities and supplier forecasts.
  • Assist in investigating, reconciling variance and consolidation support documentation for annual stocktake
  • Maintain all manufacturing planning data in ERP system (syteline) including manufacturing operation sequences, lead times and other pertinent planning data.
  • Provide regular updates to site managers and the finance team on monthly budget progress.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining direct reports including training, succession planning and performance reviews.

To be a great match to this role you will:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in supply chain management, business management or related fields.
  • At least five years’ experience in a manufacturing/production environment essential.
  • Be a proven team player, participative, and collaborative with others in solutions and ideas.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft suites such as word and excel.
  • Good computer literacy
  • Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as Syteline
  • Knowledge of a range of manufacturing processes and techniques – including fabrication, machining, fitting and assembly.
