THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an experienced Fitter Machinist (Mechanical Fitter) to join our team in Dunedin who will work closely with, Scott Group staff, apprentices, and contractors as required. This role will involve being part of a team that produces high quality work in manufacturing, fitting components and assemblies of our projects as well as participating in the commissioning of plant and customised equipment.

KEY SKILLS WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Producing quality workmanship and completing manufacturing and assembly tasks accurately to Scott standards and set targets.
• Operating various manual and CNC machine tools to support tasks.
• Operating CAM software, as required.
• Verbal reporting details of job progress and timelines- current and expected.
• Commissioning machinery.
• Conducting in-house trials of assembled equipment.
• Applying problem solving methods.
• Mentoring and assisting apprentices.

YOU WILL HAVE

• A relevant trade qualification and proven experience in a similar position.
• The ability to work diligently and efficiently, alone or in a team fitting cell environment.
• Availability to travel (domestic or international) to our customers’ sites to install and commission equipment as required.
• Experience working in a Lean-Six Sigma workplace (preferable).
• A commitment to working within a strong Health & Safety conscious environment.
• The right to live and work permanently in New Zealand.
